What to Bring & Additional Info

  • Layer, Layer, Layer... San Francisco is famous for its micro-climates and mercurial weather. Summer temperatures at Ocean Beach can be foggy and chilly, with temperatures as low as the mid-50s (10C), while in downtown San Francisco it can be very comfortable, in the mid-70s (21C). As these are coastal walks, wearing layers of clothing ensures you will be comfortable throughout the day.

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes - We recommend a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Our walks are on relatively easy, non-technical trails and footpaths. Our 2.5 to 3 hour walks are rated as moderate, with a couple of short stairway or trail climbs thrown in on some of the routes.

  • Sunscreen - Yes, you can get a nasty sunburn, even on a foggy day. Screen up....even when the sun is not shining. Please use SPF 30 or more.

  • Water - Keep well hydrated....well....that's a no-brainer. Drink before you're thirsty. A quart/liter size water bottle should work fine for our half-day walks.

  • BYOL (Bring your own lunch) - Please plan on bringing your own snack or lunch as we will be pause mid-route for a scenic break.

  • Transport  - You are responsible for arranging you own transport to and from each walk's meeting point.

  • Rain or Shine - Our tours run in most weather conditions, except for exceptional rain or heat.

  • Unfortunately our routes are not wheelchair accessible.

  • Custom walks / itineraries available - Please contact us for availability and pricing

  • Gratuities always appreciated
