Had such a lovely and relaxing day hiking with Greg! The hike was beautiful - redwood trees, waterfall, and homes of Mill Valley were all gorgeous - and not too strenuous. Definitely would not have discovered Mill Valley or this trail otherwise, and I'm glad I did!

Greg, Ben's partner, was a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, friendly, and super thoughtful. We wound through a neighborhood set among the redwoods, then hit a rolling trail, with its clear waterfalls, ancient trees, crisp leaves underfoot, and stunning views of Mount Tamalpais. It's hard to describe the sensation: fragrant, woodsy, majestic, and very very private (in three hours, we passed six people and eight dogs). We stopped for lunch at the end, halfway down a 14-story staircase plunked deep in the woods. Marvelous!

This is an incredible experience! Ben is a wonderful guide, especially since he grew up playing in the Redwoods. For more than 3 hours, Ben took us on magical paths and trails through the Redwoods, while imparting information only a native could know. DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE!!! IT IS AWESOME!!!

If you like walking and love to see the Golden Gate Bridge from a less touristy spot, the coastal walk is a great way. The start was at Crissy Field where you can grab a sandwich for lunch at the warming hut. We had almost a private tour, only two of us booked it. Ben our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. First we visited Fort Point which is located just under the Golden Gate Bridge. We went on along the coast trail to the little known Marshall Beach where we also enjoyed our lunch. The unique views to the Golden Gate and to the coast were spectacular, even it was foggy. Sometimes the Bridge was more covered sometime less, but it was stunning. The walking distance with 8 km and some moderate up and down is not difficult if you wear proper shoes and are used to walk a bit. Bring also a warm jumper with you. It is perfect for guys who love the nature and less touristy places.

Greg, our guide, did a great job. The pace was right, and the local knowledge was very interesting. The views on the hike are incredible. Every minute there is a another great view. We would not have seen most of this without a guide. It's nice to just hike, take in the views, and not have to worry about getting lost. And we leanred a lot about the history of the area.

My favourite tour in San Fransisco!

Easily the best 3 hours hours I spent in San Francisco! Ben was exceptionally knowledgable about the area and we went to many places off the beaten track and away from the usual tourist spots.
It was quite foggy early on which was tricky but made for some great photos and Ben took me to multiple places in the hope of getting the best shots. Little things like bringing extra water and sweets were a really nice touch!
Couldn't recommend this tour enough. If you're up for a nice walk and want to get away from all the tourists around the bridge, this is the tour for you!

Hiking through Muir Woods has been on my bucket list since high school (and I won't tell you how long ago that was). So when the opportunity arose to join Coastal Walkers for a loop from Mt. Tam to Muir Woods and back, I jumped at it! Greg was our group's guide and he was stellar! His knowledge about the area was impressive, and it was so fun to chat with him about the travels he's experienced - when you meet him, be sure to ask about his biking adventures world-wide!
Hiking with Greg was like hiking with an old friend. The entire group was relaxed, engaged, and we've all kept in touch on social media since. I cannot recommend signing up for a walking tour with Coastal Walkers more - DO IT!

Jason - Yelp Review - Lands End *****

Let's start with the guides - Greg and Ben really know their stuff.  While I thought i would learn a bit about the history of the region, these guys were absolutely full of local knowledge, random facts and info. on everyone and anyone who's ever filmed a movie scene, owned property, perished in the surf or walked the cliffs around Land's End.  And I loved listening to their stories about what the area was like when they grew up in the neighborhood in the 60s and how its changed over the years.   Greg is a wealth of travel knowledge of not only San Francisco, but the Bay Area and basically the entire world so it was great  hear his thoughts about the next places on my bucket list.  Ben is a long-time travel photographer which was a great resource during the walk as I fumbled around with a camera that is high in potential if you know what you're doing.

The walk was a great mix of history, exercise and beauty...While not overly strenuous it felt good to be up and moving for a few hours, with a couple sections that required a little extra push.  The Sutro Baths, sutros house and gardens and basically the views up and down the coast and of the golden gate bridge were breathtaking.  As Greg mentioned at one point, we were in the most remote and wild part of San Francisco proper, a spot on the coast that could very well have been in Oregon, not a couple miles from downtown.

I've been down to Land's End before but honestly, this walk took me to places I never knew existed. What makes this so worth it are the stories and history of the area, but not just the facts that you read about at the information center.  These guys have been surfing here for 50 years, hiking the area before it was revamped by the city and it feels like they were probably riding the train out to the amusement park at the turn of the 20th century.  They definitely made it for me and gave me a completely new perspective of this hidden little gem of beauty that only few people venture down to for views of the golden gate.

My wife and I booked this walk, and are so glad we did. What a great experience with a with a wonderful guide who provided a wealth of knowledge along the way. Spectacular scenery, if we ever return to the bay area we will be calling "Coastal Walkers" again.
